Noho Design

Canterbury based, Noho prides itself on utilizing local expertise.  They recognize the importance of experience.  They are firm believers that, while the power of the new look is all well and good, each piece they design must withstand the test of time.
The best craftsmen are those who have seen how various pieces of furniture have weathered and changed to suit a variety of roles over the years.  That way they know how to work back, to reverse-engineer the process for the best results.

The influences on Noho's design and production can be seen in the landscape and culture around them.  They believe in a holistic approach to their labour.  They spurn the mass-produced look and craft to the high standards of old and ensuring the next generation can also appreciate the emphasis they have placed on quality.

Foreshore
Beautifully crafted oak (or beech) exposed frames with a distinctive sculptured feel, make the Foreshore range feature pieces in any room.  The design parameters for this range meant adhering to a stripped back look, reducing each piece to a finely honed, functional core.  A Scandinavian design ethos was successfully integrated into Noho's interpretation of furniture in the 1960s Kiwi bach.  This iconic beachfront experience shines through the Foreshore range.

Flatland
To compliment the form of Noho's soft furniture ranges, they've designed the Flatland range - an eclectic mix of coffee tables, side tables and modular units.  These pieces have a typically strong identity of their own, one that is strengthened with the use of sustainable native and reconstituted timbers.
 
Discovery
You'll often hear talk of the 'heartland' in New Zealand - a place indistinct in location but definite in attitude.  It's where you meet old friends, reconnect with past ideals and throw a spotlight on what is and isn't important in your life.  Clad in high quality New Zealand leather, this range is inspired by this nebulous 'heartland' experience with modern shapes but echoing past tradition.
