
They bring together contrasting materials in much of their work
- plywood, Matai, Tawa, Kauri, Rimu and lacquered surfaces,
encouraging you to do the same in your homes. Much of the
native timber used is 100% recycled.
Rebecca is a fine arts student who combines her eye for quality
design with her and her father Doug's skill for hand crafting
timber.
"I'm a great beliver that we look through a rear view mirror
into the future. Our practise values the hands-on approach -
we use recycled New Zealand timbers whereever possible to create
something new that has an ongong story" says Rebecca.
"With Dad's backgound in building and woodworking and mine in
art and design, it seemed quite natural to work togther and open a
studio. The discovery of our site in rural Clevedon has
contributed to our practise with its barn nature and country
asthetic." Rebecca is often inspired by her great aunt, Helen
Brown, a celebrated artist in the 1960s and 70s.
